PR0N BLOCKED IN THE UK SOON & WHY THAT SUCKS!! (by sxephil)

Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
Born on February 1, 1902 in Joplin, Missouri, poet and writer Langston Hughes became one of the forerunners during the Harlem Renaissance. His works were well known for being the embodiment of urban black life in Harlem. Langston Hughes used humor often in his works in order to convey the plight of his fellow African Americans. Unfortunately Langston Hughes met his untimely end on May 22, 1967 after complications of prostate cancer. His residence in New York has been made a landmark and renamed Langston Hughes Place.
Side note: Above and below are 2 of my personal favorite poems by such a great author.
Dreams Deferred
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
Watch me gingerly,
tenderly
Trail tongue from your lips
To luscious cherry stained lips
To lap desire in a dance
From wet embrace
Excuse me as I come…
To rapt attention
At your sensuous curves
Nuanced by hot passion
And the arch of your back.
Wrap my head
In warm embrace
Made slick and velvet
from long maddening passions
Drowned in oohs and aahs
Of our love.
